Light Up Downtown Ceremony goes virtual

Annula Light Up Downtown festival makes modifications. This year's event will feature a virtual lighting ceremony in front of Town Hall at 6:00 PM and will be live streamed on Facebook. Mayor Robert Johnson, Santa Claus and BROC's Little Miss 2020 will "turn on the Christmas lights." Stores and eateries will stay open late for visitors and holiday shoppers.  Horse-drawn carriage rides will be on hand during the evening of November 20th and 21st and riders are required to register for tickets online. A storefront decorating contest is being held through December 12th. Residents are encouraged to vote for their favorite window display on the Light Up Downtown Facebook event page or by tagging Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership in their posts.
